September 28, 2010

Reunited grunge legends SOUNDGARDEN played a special "secret" show last night (Monday, September 27) at Activision's exclusive launch event for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock at the Paramount Studios back-lot in Los Angeles, California. Guests had a memorable experience as the back-lot was transformed into a New York block party and a replica of the historic CBGB venue for a unique blend of music, art, food and gameplay, culminating with a "one-night-only" special performance by one of the most influential rock bands of all time, SOUNDGARDEN.

SOUNDGARDEN's setlist was as follows:

01. Hands All Over
02. Spoonman
03. Rusty Cage
04. Outshined
05. Burden In My Hand
06. Black Hole Sun
07. Black Rain
08. Gun

SOUNDGARDEN's first collection of music since 1996, "Telephantasm", is being released today (September 28) in the U.S. The band partnered with innovative gaming publisher Activision to release the album via A&M/UMe inside one million copies of the new videogame Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. This release marks the first time a music album will be simultaneously released and bundled with a video game launch. Additionally, fans will get full access to the band's new album as downloadable content for Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The 12-song disc will then be available on October 5 at all music retail outlets and on the band's web site.

On September 28, A&M/UMe is releasing three expanded versions of "Telephantasm" which include a double-disc with 12 additional tracks, five of which are previously unreleased, and SOUNDGARDEN's first-ever DVD, featuring 20 videos, 13 of which have never been released, a deluxe three-LP vinyl edition and an individually numbered super deluxe collector's edition. The super deluxe collector's edition is available for a limited time and includes two CDs, the limited-edition DVD, three heavy vinyl discs, a collectible poster, lithos, and much more. These three expanded versions are available at all music retail outlets and on the band's web site.
